Its purpose is strictly limited to statistical traffic analysis, which exempts it from consent collection in line with the French CNIL guidelines.

12. Attachment Logging

When enabled by a server administrator, the Attachment Logging feature monitors messages containing files or embedded media and forwards them to a designated private log channel within the same server. This feature is entirely opt-in and must be explicitly configured by the server administrator.

Data processed by this feature:

• Author username and avatar (from Discord).
• The channel where the message was sent.
• A link to the original message.
• The content of attached files (images, videos, audio, documents, archives) and embedded media (GIFs from Tenor or Giphy, direct image links).

Files are fetched directly from Discord's CDN and re-uploaded to the log channel. No file is stored on Ganyu's servers; the data transits in memory only.

Only server members with access to the configured log channel (typically administrators or moderators) can view logged content.

Administrators can restrict logging by channel, role, file type, and minimum file size. NSFW channels and threads can be excluded. The feature can be disabled at any time.
